The Most Wonderful Human on the Planet

In my eyes, my grandma is the most wonderful human on the planet. Today was her birthday and I am using it as an opportunity to express my love for her.

As you can tell, my grandma is one of my favorite people ever. Not only does she make AMAZING french toast, but she makes it for me every time I come home, and then she just listens to me ramble on and on about my life while I gobble it all up. She has been making this french toast for years and it has never changed, and neither has she. She is the greatest listener of all time and she also offers great advice. However, she gives advice in a way different from most people because she's not telling me how to live my life; she is simply offering suggestions and they are so wise I usually have to take it. I have learned countless life lessons from her and I am so blessed to have had her by my side no matter what I am going through.

Although she gives me great verbal advice, she also sets an example for me by the way she lives her day to day life. She is constantly helping others. Whether she is helping with coffee hour at church or using her skills to make neat things for the church Bazaar, she is always ready to lend a helping hand. I have never heard her complain about going in to church too much. Actually, I've never heard her complain about anything, ever. This is an amazing quality to have and I honestly think her quality of living is greater because she is so stinkin' happy all the time. Her happiness probably has something to do with her ability to see the best in people. She never has a bad thing to say about anyone and even when I am complaining about someone, she reminds me that there is probably a reason they are acting the way they are. My grandma is a selfless woman who somehow finds happiness in everything-- even when she lives with my crabby grandpa.

Although my grandpa can be a crab, my grandma puts up with him and they have shown me the definition of true love. They are best friends and I hope to someday find myself in a relationship just like theirs. The love that my grandma shares with my grandpa and everyone around her is amazing to witness and I am so lucky I see it firsthand.

Love makes my grandma special and I have a sneaking suspicion it is also the secret ingredient in her cookies, which happen to be the best cookies ever. Her love of food is also something I admire her for. Or maybe it's her love for cooking delicious food... Either way, she is great in the kitchen and although she will hate me for saying this, she works hard to be able to enjoy the food she cooks. We've done our fair share of walks and abs together and although they sometimes end with ice cream, the fact that she still makes an effort to work out shows her determination for living a healthy life. She loves, she cooks, she works out-- what a woman, am I right?

My grandma has so many wonderful qualities and there is no possible way I could sum them all up in one post. She is one of my best friends and I aspire to be just like her. If I grow into half the woman she is, I will consider my life a success.

Grandma, thank you so much for all of the wonderful things that you do and Happy Birthday!
