1,000 Things- The End?

Earlier this year I challenged myself to write down 1,000 things I am thankful for:

It has truly been a challenge and I'm sure there are a couple repeats on my list, but nevertheless I have found 1,000 things to be thankful for. It may seem like an easy task, but there are times when you feel silly writing down little things. But that's the point. We have so much to be thankful for. My list is filled with people, moments, feelings and things. It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to compile a list of 1,000 things, but we tend to think that we have to come up with really big and important ideas.

Although there are big and important things, there are little things that are equally important and it's crucial that we realize how many things we have to be thankful for. It doesn't matter if you are religious or not, the act of being thankful should never be a chore and it is something we should practice daily. We should constantly appreciate what we have. In doing this we realize how wonderful our lives are. Never take the little things for granted. Everything that you have is important to the life that you live.

Now I have a list of 1,000 things I can look back on whenever I'm having a bad day. I can look at this list and know that when everything seems to be going wrong, there are 1,000 things that I have going for me. Focusing on everything I had to be thankful for  helped me get through this year and I think I am a better person because of it.

I plan to continue my list because the reality is that the number of things I have to be thankful for is never-ending. I will never stop appreciating what the world has to offer me. Each day in itself is a gift and I will continue to acknowledge it.

I challenge you to think about all you have and remember how great life is. Don't forget to count your blessings, folks. The world is a beautiful place. Acknowledge it.

P.S I would like to tell you that I am thankful for each and every person who takes the time to read what I have to say; that means YOU. Have a lovely day!
