Running
Recently I have embraced a new hobby- running. And by recently I mean like in the past year, but my interest has definitely heightened in the past couple months. It's weird because I used to be the girl who would walk the mile and protest against that stupid Friday run test, but maybe all those silly gym teachers had a point.
Even though it can be difficult at times, running is great for you on so many different levels. Not only is it great exercise but it also gives you some time to think, or not think. I think that's what I enjoy about it so much. It either forces me to think about a problem at hand or allows me to forget about it. I get anxious a lot and now instead of crying about things, I go for a run and it really works. You can't beat the feeling after a nice run.
I am also training to run the Fargo half marathon in three weeks and I'm really nervous but I know that once I cross the finish line, nothing else will matter. All those Saturday mornings I spent running instead of sleeping will pay off and I am so excited. I am the type of person who needs motivation and that's what this Half is doing for me. I'm also the type of person who needs an excuse to take time for me. And that's exactly what running gives me-- me time.
I think it's important that everyone finds something that gives them a break from the world, and if it happens to be running, great! But whatever it is, just be sure you find time for you.
(And don't be afraid to give running a chance!)

YESSS. So happy that you find running such a great stress-reliever. Running is my favorite way to relieve stress, minus playing piano! I am so excited for you to run this half marathon, and I know you'll do amazing!!
